Las Vegas, Nevada (El Dorado High School)

Coming off a two-week bye, the San Diego Surge (1-0) will travel to Sin City this Saturday to take on the Las Vegas Silver Stars (0-2). It will be the first meeting in team history against the Silver Stars, who are in their second season of play.

Last Time Out

Deana Guidry and Adriana Gutierrez notched three rushing touchdowns each as the Surge kicked off the 2019 season with a 42-14 victory over the San Diego Rebellion. The Surge totaled 407 rushing yards and had three different players going over the century mark. Gutierrez led all rushers with 139 yards on six carries, Guidry also carried the ball six times and put up 124 yards, while rookie CJ Collier notched a team-high 13 carries for 109 yards.

Guidry earns Player of the Week honors

Deana Guidry became the WNFC's first-ever "Breaking Barriers" Player of the Week recipient for the Pacific Conference after rushing for 124 yards and three touchdowns during a 42-14 win over the San Diego Rebellion. Guidry's outstanding night also included two tackles on defense and a 55-yard kickoff return.

Surging Ahead

A two-game road slate ends with a trip to the Pacific Northwest on May 4th for what should be another competitive outing against the Seattle Majestics. This game will be a rematch from last year's "Best of the West" Tournament consolation game that ended with a 16-6 victory for the Surge. In a series that dates back to 2014, the Surge hold a 3-0 advantage. These teams will meet again in San Diego the following week.
