4th quarter comeback falls short at utah

Down 45-18 going into the 4th Quarter, the San Diego Surge (4-1) rallied back with 24 unanswered points to cut the Utah Falconz' (5-0) commanding lead to three.

Following a successful onside kick with two seconds left to play, San Diego's attempt to steal the victory ended with a forward lateral as time expired, allowing Utah to hold on for a 45-42 win.

The Surge ended the first quarter with a 18-7 lead, but the Falconz dominated the 2nd and 3rd quarters by a combined score of 38-0. San Diego was able to shutdown the two-time defending IWFL champions in the final quarter, but it wasn't enough.

After a Memorial Day Weekend break, the Surge are scheduled to play their final regular-season home game against the Phoenix Phantomz on June 2nd.

The Surge are currently raising funds for a potential playoff run that could require two airfare trips. You can help the team by visiting this link: https://www.gofundme.com/5kjsbvc
